A man has been arrested in relation to three separate attacks targeting young girls asleep in their Flaxmere bedrooms.
The 28-year-old Auckland man appeared in the Manukau District Court yesterday on charges of burglary, indecent assault and committing an indecent act. He entered no plea and was remanded in custody to reappear on September 30.
Hastings Police Detective Glen Yule said more charges were likely to be laid.
The arrest followed incidents in Flaxmere - in Montrose Place, Flaxmere Ave and Margate Ave - between February and August.
In February, a man entered a Montrose Place house where three girls aged under 12 were sleeping and assaulted one.
The man had entered the house through an open window.
Last month, an intruder targeted a young girl in a Margate Ave house.
The girl's screams alerted her father and brother, who chased the man off.
On the same night, an intruder exposed himself to three young girls who were sleeping in a Yarmouth Rd house.
