Tomorrow sees the return of a Hamilton Christmas tradition as one man in Tamahere turns his home into a Christmas lights bonanza to raise money for Child Cancer Foundation and Rainbow Place charities.
Clive Hart has been decorating the house for the past nine years and adds something new every year, which over time has added up to roughly 250,000 bulbs. This year saw another 10,000 lights added.
The display has grown so large that this year Clive had to start work in early October.
Last year alone the display drew enough visitors to raise $4000 for Clive's chosen charities.
"Nothing's compulsory, we don't have a gold coin entrance fee or anything. All we ask is if someone buys a gift it has to be new."
Visitors will also be treated to candy canes for the children. The display lasts until December 26, and visitors are welcome to arrive any time after 8.30pm.
The display can be found at 28 Te Awa Lane in Tamahere.
