There will be no shortage of laughs as Jeremy Corbett, host of 7 Days, hits Hamilton at the Clarence Club Comedy Night.
Joining him will be award-winning comedians Rose Matafeo from Jono and Ben at 10, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer from What We Do in the Shadows, and Nick Rado and Jamie Bowen also seen at the Old Mout Cider Comedy Gala.
Jeremy said people should expect the show to be "bloody funny" and is looking forward to the visit to Hamilton.
"I'm hosting, so I don't think it is fair to expect me to come up with funny. But I certainly have some funny people on board.
"I love the place, love it. I grew up in Palmerston North and Hamilton was like the big brother. The one who might just beat you up. So as I drive into that Waikato Wonderland I feel an exciting mix of fear that I may get a wedgie, and excitement that I'll be seeing an old friend. Can't wait."
He said though they've promised not to "take the piss" out of the city, it might just be pay back time.
"We've made a promise not to take the piss out of Hamilton. [But] I grew up in Palmerston North and Hamilton used to make jokes about us, so it's pay-back time."
He is looking forward to what the "young bucks" will deliver on the night, but says he's not the one the ask for advice.
"They often ask for general career advice, I think that is mainly to include me in the conversation. If they're very young and only just started I tell them to give up. To be honest, there is too many, I need work. I don't want good ones coming through."
He said he'd like the theatre to be full, and with bright futures ahead of the comedians it will be a chance not to be missed.
"You want to be the person who can brag about seeing them when they still did gigs in New Zealand. It will be a great night, with that many comedians it will some quick-fire stuff. They will all be funny!"
