The NZ National Fieldays Society and Busit have put on free buses for Fieldays.
Buses leave the Transport Centre in Hamilton central and stop at Knox Street carpark, where there is
a park and ride service.
If parking in Knox Street carpark take your parking ticket to Mystery Creek and redeem at Gate 1 for
a free carpark voucher.
Buses also run from Gate 10 at Waikato University which has also a park and ride service.
Eden Ritchie said she and her friends were catching the bus because it was too far to walk.
"It is a good idea because it is free."
The first buses leave at 8.30am on Wednesday and Thursday and 8.00 on Friday and Saturday.
Buses start leaving at 2pm and finish at 5pm.
Barrie Mossman, 65, said he caught the bus because it was convenient.
"Particularly because the parking is quite a distance from the actual event where as the bus drops
you off at the gate and the same coming back."
Bus drivers will be flat out all day ferrying people to and from Fieldays.
Lynn Phillips, 46, who is visiting from Brisbane, said she had never been to Fieldays before and
caught the bus to save having to park at the site.
"Well it's the thing to see in Hamilton this week for sure."
