Luxury shoe brand Gianvito Rossi has been slammed online after releasing a pair of kitten-heeled jandals that cost a whopping $986.
The posh brand, favoured by royals such as Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, have released the leather heeled jandals on Net-a-Porter in tan, white and black.
New York fashion writer, Emilia Petrarca, tweeted about the heels, declaring: "Heeled flip-flops are coming."
The tweet attracted some serious attention online with users outraged by the 90s-inspired shoe and its hefty price tag.
Twitter user Charlotte Gibbons joked: "Is that the price they pay people to wear them?"
User Magi added: "I couldn't imagine a type of footwear that is more uncomfortable than flip-flops but here we f****** go."
Another person replied: "Imagine spending anything more than 20 bucks on a dated product that required no skill to create and such little material to craft."
Another added: "The whole concept of flip flops is comfort so why would someone ruin it by giving them heels."
User Rosie joked: "lol I'll stick to 90p Primark ones thanks."
Advertised on the Net-a-Porter website, the description reads: "Neutral shades and barely-there sandals are so big for Spring '19, and Gianvito Rossi combined both trends to create this exclusive pair.
"They've been made in Italy from supple tan leather and have slim thong straps. The 70mm kitten heel makes them a comfortable choice for day and evening."
