A handmade skirt paired with a Zara shirt, Claire Hahn headpiece, YSL bag and ASOS shoes were the winning outfit of choice for the country's national race-wear fashion final, The Ned Prix de Fashion at Vodafone Derby Day.
Aucklander Aleisha Mitchell took the coveted prize as more than 5000 punters enjoyed a bluebird day at Ellerslie Racecourse yesterday.
Mitchell won more than $20,000 worth of prizes, including an all-expenses trip for four to Marlborough, a VIP shopping experience and a degustation dinner for six.
The prize package also included Melbourne Cup Day tickets, and accommodation and other goodies for a visit to the Australian city.
It was not the first success for one part of Mitchell's outfit.
Her YSL bag had previously helped win the Boxing Day Fashions in the Field at Ellerslie in 2017.
The 35-year-old is now preparing for her debut at the MYER Fashions on the Field during the Melbourne Cup carnival.
Judges for yesterday's premier racing fashion event included the Victoria Racing Club Myer Fashions on the Field 2018 national winner Carle Rutledge, milliner to the stars Jill Humphries and Showroom 22 founder Murray Bevan.
