Lorde ended her Pure Heroine tour with a hit-packed show at Vector Arena that came with fresh covers and new visuals. The crowd went crazy for the teen from Devonport, deservedly so.
Here are five reasons why we love our Lorde.
1. Her covers
Lorde's final performance at her Pure Heroine tour included covers of Kanye West's Flashing Lights and Bon Iver's Heavenly Father. She also sang a version of Young Blood by fellow Auckland musos The Naked and Famous.
Her take on Flashing Lights was so distinctively Lorde, it was hard to believe it was a cover.
2. No encore
Lorde doesn't do encores. She thanked the audience before performing A World Alone, smiled out at her well-deserved standing ovation, then bowed to the crowd.
3. Proudly Kiwi
Lorde has performed to sell out audiences in the United States, England and across the Tasman. But she is a proud Kiwi and Aucklander.
"This music is about Auckland. Ever since we filmed Royals at the bus stop, at the tunnel to the North Shore, I've had you with me.
"You don't know how special it is, ending the tour here. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you, Auckland," she told fans.
4. Her wild hair
Lorde's wild tresses are her trademark, and they are nearly as much a part of her performance as her distinctive voice.
5. Her new confidence
From her opening track, Glory and Gore, to her performance of A World Alone, Lorde showed a new, more confident style. She was on fire and her show was more polished than ever. Her trademark jerky movements were still there, of course, but she was less awkward than this time last year.
6. Her thanks
Not many pop stars would follow up a triumphant homecoming gig with a thank you like this:
