Most people may not know it but an Emmy - American television's highest award - exists for On Camera Performer in the category of Live Special Events.
And this month, the winner's statue could be heading Down Under.
Miguel Harth-Bedoya, music director of the Auckland Philharmonia, has been nominated for the gong for the live broadcast of a concert he conducted last year.
He conducted the Los Angeles Philharmonia at the Hollywood Bowl and the performance screened live on a local Los Angeles television channel.
Harth-Bedoya said of the television honour: "I didn't realise a concert like that could be nominated."
