Film opens up shop for charity

Kiwi film Shopping is auctioning off props featured in the movie to raise money for charity.

The fundraising effort has been launched with a cheeky video featuring the movies two young stars - Julian Dennison and Kevin Paulo - and was directed by one of the films directors, Louis Sutherland.

In the video, the pair walk viewers through the Shopping Shop, offering up a "cool bike", and a "giant iPod" (a portable tape player) to keen buyers. Or maybe it's the "awesome" rim that fell off the car in the movie that will be the big ticket item.

The younger of the two, Dennison, describes Shopping as being "about shoplifting and stuff...not that any of this stuff is stolen, aye bro?"

All money raised from the auction goes to the Starship Foundation.

The auction starts at 7pm on March 31 at the Shopping Shop website.
