Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has struck up an unlikely friendship with rapper Drake — but one detail she revealed about their close connection is raising eyebrows.
The Stranger Things star, 14, first met Canadian Drake, 31, when he attended the Brisbane Supernova convention she was appearing in while he was in the midst of a sold-out Australian tour in November last year.
Since then, the two have kept in touch, as she revealed on the red carpet at yesterday's Emmy Awards.
"I love him … he's honestly so fantastic. A great friend and a great role model," she told reporters during a red carpet interview with Access Hollywood.
"We text. We just texted the other day and he was like, 'I miss you so much!' and I was like 'I miss you more!'"
Asked what advice the rapper gives her, she said: "About boys. He helps me. He's great." Pressed for the advice, she demurred: "That stays in the text messages."
Now, many on social media have questions about Drake sending texts to a 14-year-old girl declaring that he misses her "so much":
Brown and Drake won't miss each other for much longer — she said they had plans to catch up when his current US tour finishes in her home city of Atlanta in November. "I'm definitely going to go and see him … I'm so excited," she said.
Brown's revelation comes a week after Drake made headlines when it was reported he has a new girlfriend, 18-year-old model Bella Harris.
However, both Drake and Harris have denied the rumours they are dating.
The pair had known each other for at least two years and were first photographed together when Harris was 16.
Here they are together in September 2016, a few months after Harris' 16th birthday:
