An Ed Sheeran pop-up store opening in Auckland today has fans wondering if the mega-selling pop star himself will show up.
Sheeran is in town for three record-breaking stadium shows in Auckland this weekend, before heading to Dunedin for three more.
An Ed Sheeran kombi van selling Ed Sheeran merchandise has been parked in Britomart and is scheduled to open at 11am.
That has fans wondering if Sheeran himself might show up after his impromptu performance to around 1000 people at a similar event in Melbourne.
One staff member setting up the store said it was unlikely they'd see the singer.
"We've been told no," she told the Herald. "Probably not."
However, the staff member said photos taken in the Sheeran-branded photo booth by fans would be sent to the Shape of You singer.
Requests for comment from Sheeran's record label and promoters have been unanswered.
The pop-up booth is inside Takutai Square and is scheduled to run until 6pm.
Sheeran's scheduled to perform at Mt Smart Stadium at sold out shows on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
