Mel B's tumultuous year has taken another turn with the former Spice Girl accused of intimidating a witness who planned to testify against her in her messy divorce.
A rapper called Siya claims the pop star sent her text messages on Saturday threatening her not to go ahead and testify in her split from ex Stephen Belafonte, TMZ reports.
The allegations were stated in a police report filed by Siya on Monday, with authorities opening a felony investigation.
The outlet reports Siya planned to testify against Mel B's claims that Belafonte physically abused her. It's also reported Siya was prepared to support the claims the Spice Girl - real name Melanie Brown - initiated the threesomes in her marriage.
It's understood Brown denies the claims in Siya's report.
In April, TMZ obtained court documents in which the singer alleges she was in an extremely violent marriage with her husband.
She filed a restraining order against Belafonte, forcing him to stay away from her and her three children and ordering him to leave the home.
She claims the abuse has gone on since 2007, however Belafonte has denied the claims.
In one situation, Brown, 42, alleges in November, 2007, as she was leaving to attend the Dancing With The Stars finale, Belafonte started choking her and slammed her down onto the hardwood floors.
Brown filed for divorce from Belafonte in March just a few months shy of their 10 year anniversary.
