"The customer is always right" is not a philosophy that exists in Marco Pierre White's restaurant.
The fiery British chef shut down a disgruntled diner on Channel Seven's Hell's Kitchen last night after she complained about her salmon.
The female customer approached David Oldfield and told the celebrity contestant that there was something wrong with her main meal.
"It's just horrible," she said, "I just don't know, I can't even eat it".
Marco Pierre White was near Oldfield in the kitchen and overheard the woman saying the fish tasted like it had been frozen.
The fish was fresh though, and White took great delight in telling the unhappy customer that she didn't know what she was talking about.
"Madam, stop making a fool of yourself," he said.
The customer suggested White should try the dish, to which he repeated, "madam, I just said, stop making a fool of yourself and sit down".
But she kept going: "I think you should try it, you have a taste of a mouthful."
White replied bluntly: "You have a mouthful. Goodnight."
The dissatisfied customer was shocked by White's response: "Seriously? Unbelievable!" she said before storming off.
Marco Pierre White is generally regarded as one of the most intimidating chef's in the world and Hell's Kitchen contestant Sam Frost told news.com.au that it's not an act he puts on.
"He's seriously terrifying," Frost said, "I tried to avoid him as much as possible".
"He has this presence about him, he's so intimidating and he makes you nervous whenever you're around him."
