You don't have to be an American Idiot to love Green Day - and Kiwi fans are in for a treat as the band is set to return to our shores next year.
The post-punk rockers will perform at Auckland's Vector Arena next year, on Saturday May 13.
It will be the first time the trio of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool have played New Zealand since 2014 and their first headlining tour since 2009.
The tour will showcase new music from the Grammy-winning band's latest album, Revolution Radio, due out tomorrow. The album marks Green Day's 12th studio release since their 1990 debut.
With a string of hit songs in their catalogue - including When I Come Around, American Idiot, Basket Case, Warning - fans are sure to hear some of their old favourites along with newer material.
Early reviews for the band's new record suggest it captures all the punk angst of the band's most loved songs and has been received warmly by Green Day fans.
Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, October 18, from 10am. For more information visit ticketmaster.co.nz
