Outspoken pop starlet Miley Cyrus has taken aim at Mariah Carey in a new interview, saying she can "see through" the multi-million-selling diva.
Cyrus, whose best-known music video saw her riding a wrecking ball and licking a mallet while nude, says that Carey's "schtick" is too focused on what she's wearing.
"I've never really been a fan, because it's so much about Mariah Carey. That's part of her schtick; I can see through that. "
"That's part of what makes her a gay icon; like, it's about Mimi! It's about what she's wearing, and it's about her," Cyrus told Elle Magazine.
"What I make isn't about me. It's about sharing my story; it's about someone being connected to what I'm saying."

We can only imagine Mariah herself has one response to this:
Elsewhere in the interview, Cyrus - a judge on The Voice in the US - admitted she is as wary of the old Voice trope of contestants leaning on their tragic backstories as viewers are.
"It's like, if you're going to have someone win because of their story, go write a screenplay about your life," she says.
"On The Voice, I try to steer away everyone who comes in here with an idea of what The Voice means, which is that you've got to be the pitch-perfect singer."
