Carey Lander, the keyboard player in Scottish band Camera Obscura has died from a rare bone cancer.
"It is with the greatest sadness, that we must share the news that Carey passed away peacefully this morning after her illness with cancer. We have lost our friend and band mate, and our deepest sympathy goes out to her partner Kenny, and to all her family and friends," the band said on Facebook.
Lander, 33, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2011.
She recently started a JustGiving page to raise money for cancer research.
"It's probably too late to help me, but it would be great if we could find something in the future that means children don't have to undergo such awful treatment and have a better chance of survival," Lander said on her JustGiving page.
In October, Lander reached her goal of €50,000 in donations.
Fellow musicians paid tribute to Lander on social media.
"She was a lovely person. I am thinking of her and her loved ones today," said Zooey Deschanel on Instagram.
