It's not only ageing women who feel the pressure to go under the knife.
But hearthrobs George Clooney and Liam Neeson have this week spoken out against the trend.
Irish actor Neeson backed Clooney's stance on cosmetic surgery and urged the men of Hollywood to grow old "gracefully".
Last month, Clooney came out as an opponent of procedures which aim to roll back the years, and declared they often look wrong on men.
"For me, it isn't an issue or an option. I don't think it would make much sense... I've seen it happen and... particularly on men, I don't think it really works well. I actually think it makes you look older," he says.

Clooney, 54, has now attracted the backing of another Hollywood veteran, Taken star Neeson, 62, who also thinks guys in Tinseltown should not go under the knife.
He tells Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, "Ageing should be done gracefully. I agree with George that the best way to grow older is not to get any work done to your face."
Here's a list of famous men who've opted for a nip and tuck:
Kenny Rogers: The American singer gambled and lost on his facelift. "I'm not happy about it," the 76-year-old told People magazine in 2006 of his botched eyelid lift. "It drives me crazy."
Paul Hogan: The Crocodile Dundee star admitted in 2003 that he had undergone a procedure to give his face more expression for acting roles.
Gene Simmons: The Kiss guitarist not only admitted to having a facelift, he even had it filmed for a TV show. His wife, Shannon Tweed, also had one at the same time.
Bruce Jenner (now known as Caityln): The Olympic gold medalist and Kardashian family member admitted to a nose job and a couple facelifts before the surgery that transitioned him into a woman.
Mickey Rourke: The actor - who made a recent comeback with The Wrestler - needed surgery to correct his nose after taking up boxing "but I went to the wrong guy to put my face back together," he told the Daily Mail.
Burt Reynolds: A macho sex symbol of the 1970s, Reynolds has admitted to plastic surgery but only around his around his eyes, and says his skin is from his genes.
