Rap fans will be rejoicing this morning with news that rap duo Run the Jewels and New York upstart Joey Bada$$ are coming to New Zealand for a joint show together.
As was rumoured by nzherald.co.nz two weeks ago, the acts are joining forces for two New Zealand shows: at Wellington's James Cabaret on January 9, and Auckland's The Studio on January 10.
Both have performed shows here within the past year: Bada$$ performed a hyped set of old school hip-hop at the Powerstation in December, while Run the Jewels played to a packed Laneway crowd in January.
Run the Jewels have a new album out, RTJ2, in October, while Joey Bada$$ is also gearing up for the release of his new album B4.Da.$$ later this year.
Tickets go on sale via DashTickets from September 25.
Meanwhile, Compton gangster rapper YG has cancelled his upcoming Auckland show at the last minute.
He was set to perform at The Studio this Friday, but a listing for the show says it has been "cancelled".
The cancellation was due to dates coinciding with Drake and his tour.
This tweet from DJ Reminise suggests YG cancelled because he was joining forces with Drake and Lil Wayne for a tour elsewhere.
