Season six of True Blood has wrapped up in America with nudity and death.
Actor Alexander Skarsgard thrilled fans of TV vampire drama True Blood by baring all for a pivotal scene - but it seemingly ended with his death.
The toned star appeared lounging naked, reading a book in a snowy scene at the end of the season six finale, which aired in the US overnight.
The Swedish actor then literally lit up the screen as his vampire character, Eric Northman, burst into flames as the sunlight hit him.
Viewers were left fearing the worst as the camera cut away as a pained Skarsgard raced towards it.
It's the second major death this season, with troubled war vet Terry Bellefleur dying several episodes earlier.
Season seven of True Blood isn't scheduled to return until June, 2014.
* True Blood screens on Sky TV's Soho channel on Thursdays at 9.30pm.
