For many, LCD Soundsystem's upcoming Auckland show was to be the highlight of their summer.
The reformed New York dance act were set to perform at Spark Arena on February 24 with Nicky Murphy in support.
But the show was cancelled along with a run of Australian shows with promoters blaming "unforeseen conflicts".
"The band extend their sincere apologies for the cancellation and hope to return down under soon."
That was bad news for many Kiwi fans who were looking forward to seeing James Murphy and co perform songs from last year's acclaimed comeback album, American Dream.
Among those to complain were Breakfast presenter Jack Tame, who said he was "gutted" about the news.
It's one of a number of shows that have been cancelled over a packed summer of music, including Neil Diamond, who cancelled two shows including the Mission show in Napier.
Shaggy has also pulled out of headlining the One Love music festival in Tauranga, while rappers Lupe Fiasco and D.R.A.M also cancelled shows.
Full refunds are available for LCD Soundsystem ticketholders.
