The Karaka mansion where The Bachelor NZ contestants lived was damaged during filming when a candle was left unattended and started a fire.
The Herald has learned that the owners of the mansion, in a gated community in Karaka, are working with the show's production company Warner Bros to "resolve" the incident.
The owners could not be contacted.
Warner Bros legal representative Philippa Rennie made it clear the owners had not taken any formal action against the entertainment giant.
"While we were filming at the property, there was a small fire in one area of the house caused by an unattended candle," she said.
"We are working closely with the owners to resolve the final outstanding issues relating to this incident."
Ms Rennie said the issues were "a private contractual matter between Warner Bros and the owners of the property" and she could not comment further.
The house where the show was filmed is believed to be a five-bedroom, four-bathroom property in an exclusive private community the Southern Motorway.
It's current Capital Value stands at just over $3.3 million.
Season one of The Bachelor NZ was a major ratings hit for TV3, and saw Bachelor Art Green choose Matilda Rice as his girlfriend over runner-up Dani Robinson.
The couple have continued their relationship since the show finished.
A second season is planned by TV3.
