Not every vote has been counted across the country but at least a dozen electorates across New Zealand officially know who their elected MP is.
100 per cent of the votes have been counted for electorates Dunedin North, East Coast Bays, Kaikoura, Nelson, New Plymouth, Northcote, Rangitata, and West Coast Tasman.
Standouts include the election of a new MP for Helensville - Chris Penk - who has taken over the old stomping ground of former Prime Minister John Key.
National's Nathan Guy, Jonathan Coleman, Nick Smith and Simon Bridges have retained their seats.
Electorates who are just inches away from a full count include Ohariu - where new entrant Greg O'Connor is leading with more than 14,000 votes.
The former Police Association president gave up his role to run for a Labour seat.
In the Bay of Plenty, National MP Todd Muller is inches away from reclaiming his seat, with just five per cent of the vote yet to be counted in that electorate.
Botany incumbent Jami-Lee Ross has also kept his seat for National, beating out new United Future leader Damien Light by a landslide.
Ross so far has nearly 19,000 votes, while Light received 432 at last count.
Clutha-Southland has also welcomed a new National MP- Hamish Walker- with the electorate having some months ago said goodbye to embattled Todd Barclay.
