Shaoxing wine is made from fermented rice and is an essential ingredient for many authentic Chinese dishes. It’s a perfect pairing for beef. Mix with oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame or peanut oil, garlic and a pinch of sugar. Stir-fry sliced beef with yellow and red sliced capsicums, beans or snow peas and add the sauce. You can also use it to make a glaze for grilled pork – mix with soy, ginger and dark brown sugar.
