Former Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum has shared what was required to mend his broken arm.
McCullum today underwent surgery, having six screws inserted into his left forearm after suffering a bone fracture while playing in the Caribbean Premier League.
McCullum was struck on the arm by fast bowler Wayne Parnell during his Trinbago Knight Riders' win over the Barbados Tridents.
X-rays confirmed serious damage, ruling the 35-year-old out for the rest of the season for the eventual competition winners.
McCullum, a freelance T20 league player since retiring from the Black Caps last year, hopes to be fit to play for the Joburg Giants in the inaugural Twenty20 Global League starting in South Africa in two months.
Black Caps all rounder Corey Anderson has also shared x-rays of his back operation as he attempts to regain his best form for the upcoming season.
The powerful left hander had to cut short his T20 stint with Somerset at the end of July when his back began playing up again, requiring surgery.
On Instagram, Anderson shared the x-rays which shows screws inserted into his spine.
Anderson hopes he will be ready to play some part during the home international summer.
