Inshore waters from Lyttelton Harbour to the Waimakariri River mouth.

Situation:

Several fronts embedded in a strong southwesterly flow spread across New Zealand through the weekend. On Monday, a ridge moves onto the country from the Tasman Sea, becoming slow moving on Tuesday and Wednesday.

GALE warning for CONWAY

Forecast:

Strong Wind Advisory. Sunday: Southwest 20 knots gusting 30 knots, easing to 15 knots for a time early morning. Rising to 25 knots gusting 35 knots late morning. Sea becoming rough late morning.Poor visibility in showers developing in the morning.

Outlook:

Outlook until midnight Wednesday: Monday: Southwest gradually easing to 20 knots. Occasional showers. Tuesday: Southwest easing to 15 knots. Cloudy periods. Showers easing morning, clearing later. Wednesday: Southwest easing to 10 knots early. Fine.

Swell:

Swell forecast to midnight Wednesday: Southeast half a metre, rising to 1 metre later Sunday and to 1.5 metres for a time on Monday and Tuesday.
