New Zealand's Budget cash deficit was $212 million wider than forecast in the three months ended September 30. This was after the Government spent more on personnel and operating costs.
The $525 million deficit compares with $212 million forecast by the Treasury department in the Budget fiscal update published on May 18.
The deficit is expected to be $1.47 billion in the year ending June 30.
