Discoloured tap water not oil spill related

Tauranga City Council has received reports of lightly discoloured tap water in various parts of the city.  

The discolouration is caused by the recent heavy rainfall which affected water supply streams. It is not related to the Rena oil spill incident.

The council has tested the water quality and advises it is safe to drink.  

If your water is discoloured run your tap for five minutes.
