A man has been seriously injured and flown to Waikato Hospital after an organised motorbike bike in the Bay.
The 27-year-old motorbike rider had been taking part in the event at Matata when he hit a tree, resulting in serious chest and abdominal injuries.

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to the scene at 1pm.
The man was stabilised at the scene by paramedics before being flown to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
