The Bay of Plenty Times has been named a finalist for Newspaper of the Year in the 2019 Voyager Media Awards.
The region's daily paper is up against its NZME sister publication the Rotorua Daily Post and the Waikato Times for Newspaper of the Year in the up to 30,000 circulation category.
Bay of Plenty Times reporters have also been named finalists for their work over the last year.
Annemarie Quill is up for Regional Journalist of the Year while the Bay of Plenty Times coverage of the Bella Vista homes saga is a finalist for Best Coverage of a Major News Event.
Scott Inglis, NZME regional editor - Bay of Plenty, said he was proud of the editorial team's achievements.
"Our journalists and photographers work hard to keep their communities informed and to produce compelling journalism that connects with readers."
More than 280 finalists for the 2019 Voyager Media Awards were announced today selected from nearly 2000 entries.
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Friday, May 17 in Auckland.
