The hunt for the next big Bay of Plenty YouTube star is on.
Skip Ahead, a joint initiative between NZ On Air and Google/YouTube, is a $300,000 fund for aspiring content creators who already have an established Kiwi audience.
Successful applicants will get a share of the money to hone their craft and take their video projects to the next level: a narrative-driven scripted web series.
They will also be given help to build a global audience and have the opportunity to attend skills workshops.
The initiative was looking for the next Jordan Watson of How to Dad fame - a funny parenting series with close to 150,000 subscribers. How To Dad received $84,903 from the fund last year.
The other successful applicants were Kiwi horror series Ao-Terror-Oa, Wellingtonian funny feminists The Candlewasters and NZ gaming underdogs, Viva la Dirt League.
Applications are open until August 10 and you can enter at www.nzonair.govt.nz.
