Baycourt Community and Arts Centre is a finalist for the Entertainment Venue Association of New Zealand Tompkins Wake Excellence in Customer Service Award.
The annual award recognises venues across New Zealand for their Excellence in Customer Service.
Baycourt's patron experience manager Cheryl Smith said in a statement this afternoon: "We are absolutely thrilled to be a finalist for this award and it is great recognition for all Baycourt staff. We are up against tough competitors, but you never know?
"Our application detailed what we do in terms of procedures and inductions, and included innovative ideas we have implemented to provide sensational service, which is what makes us stand out above the others in delivering excellence in customer service,'' Ms Smith said.
Baycourt sent a feedback form to all hirers to assess any areas that require attention and also initiated an annual survey that went out to Bay of Plenty residents for their feedback.
Baycourt manager Megan Peacock Coyle said: "It is verification that all Baycourt staff understand the ongoing commitment required to deliver excellence in customer service."
The association is the body representing the venue industry in New Zealand with a membership of 97 venues nationally. This includes 46 theatres, 32 event centres, 11 outdoor stadiums and eight convention centres.
The awards ceremony will be held on December 6 at 7pm at the Claudelands Events Centre in Hamilton.
