A Tauranga dairy owner has chased off a pair of would-be robbers who were armed with a plastic pistol and a knife.
Two men stormed into the Carlisle Street dairy armed with the implements around 6.45pm on Wednesday.
They demanded money but were chased out of the store by the owner and his assistant.
Police would like to hear from anyone who might recognise two men captured on CCTV cameras.
One of the offenders was wearing dark blue trousers with a reflective band around the knee.
They were last seen running down Tyrone Street and getting into a car that was described as silver and a modern shape.
