Tauranga Police Station is opening its doors on Sunday morning for people to get a glimpse into the world of policing.
The event is one of a number taking place around the country as part of the National Police Open Day.
People can take a tour of the Monmouth St station and cell block and staff from a range of policing roles will be on hand to give advice to anyone considering a police career.
There will also be activities and giveaways for the children and a barbecue.
Doors open at 10am and the event conclude with a demonstration by the Armed Offenders Squad and police dogs about 12.45pm.
The public are asked to bear in mind that Tauranga police station will remain operational on the day and elements of the open day may be subject to change in the event of an emergency or significant incident.
