The carnival is not over for Tauranga - not with the Seekers performing here this November.
Sources said the promoter will soon announce a date for the long-awaited concert involving all the original members - Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley - of the band.
Having bypassed Tauranga last year on their 50th anniversary tour with performances in Wellington, Christchurch, Auckland, Hamilton and New Plymouth, the Seekers received a lot of letters from Bay fans and is now heeding their call.
Last year, the band took fans down memory lane with songs, stories, and memorabilia - as well as video clips on the big screen.
The long-lasting international pop group's chart-topping hits include I'll Never Find Another You, A World Of Our Own, The Carnival Is Over, Morningtown Ride, Someday One Day, and the legendary Georgy Girl.
The Seekers were the first group ever to reach No1 in the UK charts with their first three singles - not even Michael Jackson or Madonna ever achieved that feat.
Having sold more than 60 million records globally, their success was international and, in the US, they were the first Australian group to reach No1 with their Oscar-nominated hit Georgy Girl.
Fifty years on, the Seekers are still touching the hearts and souls of fans - and in Tauranga there are sure to be some who've been with them every step of the way.
