Tauranga had a happiness rating of 42 per cent, new data shows.
An interactive online tool, monitored by Sovereign's NZ MoodMap, which tracked the daily mood of more than 6000 Kiwis through June and July, had shown a possible case of the winter blues in Tauranga, putting the city in the lowest third of the country. Although the city did record a happiness high on June 24 of 83 per cent.
The NZ MoodMap revealed a record low of 14 per cent in Nelson during June and July. However, the happiest places were Kapiti Coast, with a delirious 87 per cent and Waipa District with 75 per cent.
