A Tauranga man charged with burglary relating to the alleged theft of a number of guns after an armed callout in Judea on Tuesday has been granted bail.
William John Timmings, 23, of Otumoetai, faced charges of burglary, possession of a cannabis bong, a glass P-pipe and cannabis seeds when he appeared in Tauranga District Court yesterday.
The burglary charge relates to the alleged break-in at a Linley Terrace, Judea home between July 3 and July 7 this year during which a number of guns were stolen, it is alleged.
Police say two of the guns were located at a Jonathan St house during an armed police search on Tuesday morning, but a number of other guns remained outstanding.
Timmings is yet to enter pleas to the charges.
His next court appearance is in Tauranga Registrar's Court on July 31.
