Ann Pritchard, 75, hoped the Government would invest more money into educating and looking after children the country's future leaders.
"I'd like to see more money in early childhood education in the right direction, certainly for the underprivileged. Those kids need a hell-of-a-lot of help ... . That's the sort of thing I'd like to see funded through the Budget programmes to help the kids communicate and learn their ABCs. It's terribly basic. Meeting the health needs of that group of people is definitely a must. It's things like rheumatic fever. I'd like to see more going into housing for the less well-off."
Mrs Pritchard said it would be an investment that would also keep unemployment down in the long run. "Whatever helps create jobs but I guess it all goes back to the basics of education. If kids aren't educated they can't hold jobs down ..."
It was also important to encourage people to start saving for retirement so they did not struggle in the later years.
She also wanted to see the drinking age returned to 20 and a tougher stance taken on those who did not pay their fines.
