UPDATED 9.24am: TECT Rescue Helicopter base manager Liam Brettkelly said the Mount Maunganui toddler transferred to Auckland's Starship Hospital last night was conscious and in a stable condition.
Mr Brettkelly said the rescue helicopter was called about 10pm to transfer the boy.
EARLIER 4.04am: A 2-year-old Mount Maunganui boy is in a serious condition with a head injury after falling down a set of concrete steps at his home.
The toddler was flown from Tauranga Hospital to Auckland's Starship Hospital for specialist treatment by the Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter last night.
