The Tauranga-based TrustPower TECT rescue helicopter was called out to two serious accidents at the weekend.
The first was to Te Puke, where a 25-year-old woman had fallen off her motorcycle and fractured her shoulder.
The Morrinsville woman was on a trail ride and had to be stabilised at the scene by St John Ambulance officers.
On the chopper's arrival, another rider fractured his arm and the injured pair were flown to Tauranga Hospital.
Later that day, the helicopter was called to a remote rural property near Ruatoki, where a vehicle had rolled 80m down a bank.
The 4WD van was being driven up a farm track with five occupants when it left the track and rolled.
All five occupants were injured, one critically and one seriously.
One man was flown to Waikato Hospital by the Bay Trust rescue helicopter and the TrustPower TECT rescue helicopter transported a 31-year-old man with serious leg injuries and abrasions to Rotorua Hospital.
The other three injured people were taken by road ambulance to Whakatane Hospital.
