Edge of Tomorrow (M)

You would have thought that Tom Cruise had rid the world of enough aliens in his time.
Alas no, they are still about and he needs more than a cat's nine lives to do it.
Major William Cage (Cruise) is a non-combat army liaison officer who is unceremoniously thrust into a battle with an unbeatable extra-terrestrial enemy.
The enemy has overrun Europe and threatens to cross the English Channel unless they can be stopped in France.
Akin to a suicide mission, Cage is killed very quickly.
But his fight with an alien has somehow thrown him into a time loop and he finds himself waking at the start of the same day. And the pattern continues - every time he dies in battle, he wakes again at the start of the day. It seems Cage holds the key to defeating this almost invincible enemy.
With the help of Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), Cage must learn from his mistakes every day so that he can get closer to his enemy's Achilles' heel.
But don't think Groundhog Day, think about a high action fight to the death with plenty of twists and turns along the way.
Yes, it is high action. But it is also clever in the way Cage must approach his conquest of the enemy.
