While New Zealand's top fashion designers have just come home from Fashion Week budding stylists in Tauranga have the chance for a kick-start in the industry.
The search is on for New Zealand's Young Fashion Stylist - and Bayfair Shopping Centre is looking for young fashionistas aged 14 to 17.
The winning stylist will become one of four national finalists in the competition.
If your friends ask you for fashion tips, and you often get compliments on your look, you could have what it takes to be a stylist.
AMPCSC senior marketing manager Desiree Clark said the competition was an excellent opportunity for teens with a love for fashion and beauty.
"The initiative is about finding a young fashion stylist that inspires others, but will also encourage smart spending and wise buying, especially among our youth."
Aspiring fashionistas are invited to send in a drawing or clothing montage of their favourite summer look.
One of four national finalists will be selected from Tauranga, and will receive a prize pack including: a six-month subscription to Girlfriend; a Maybelline New York prize pack worth $200; $300 worth of Bayfair vouchers every month for three months; $400 worth of Bayfair vouchers for the month of March 2011; and a full page in the November 2010 issue of Girlfriend, showing the four finalists.
From December to March, the finalists will be asked to create four looks using their vouchers and Maybelline New York products. Each look will be put to a public vote, and the finalist with the most votes will be crowned New Zealand's Young Fashion Stylist.
The overall winner will receive a 12-month subscription to Girlfriend, a professional make-up kit featuring a full range of Maybelline New York products valued at $400, and a full-page feature in the April 2011 issue of Girlfriend.
Entry forms are available in the September issue of Girlfriend.
Entries close on September 30.
