An amateur pilot's trip over England this week came with a special greeting.
Ben Davis, of Buckingham, took flight on Thursday. He tweeted that his 215-mile journey in the sky lasted two hours and 23 minutes.
A map on Flightradar24 indicates that his flight path forms the shape of the letters 'HAPPY NY'.
Davis tweeted: 'Hi, here's a early Happy NY to you all. I did it yesterday, 215miles & 2hr23mins flying.'
The flight was completed in a Evektor EV-97, according to Flightradar24, a global flight tracking service.
The flight path indicates Davis flew over Northampton and Buckingham.
Davis told CNN: 'Seeing as it was going to take over two hours to complete, I didn't fancy flying far away to try.'
He told the news outlet: 'It's my first ever attempt and I'm pleased with it. If I'd made a mistake when almost done, I'd have had to scrap it and start over.'
