Neighbours are at odds in rural Auckland over a 6-metre-tall statue of a Hindu god. Ravin Chand has just finished erecting the huge marble effigy on his property at Clevedon.
He says he wants it there so his family can pray to it - but his Catholic neighbours do not like it.
They say the statue of Shiva is bizarre and offensive.
Chand has had to install special foundations to support the 30-tonne statue, which he maintains is part of Hindu culture.
