Waiheke Vintage Festival
Fancy a tipple? More than 40 winemaking, food and wine, and music events will be happening at 17 different vineyard locations on Waiheke Island this weekend.
The festival opened on March 11th and runs until the 16th. If you are after good food, good company and a little culture, this is the place to be.
Rock Legends The Eagle's are coming to town.
One of history's most legendary bands is making its way to Auckland this weekend. With hits like Hotel California, Witchy-Woman and Tequila Sunrise, the Eagles are bringing their critically acclaimed 'History of the Eagles' World Tour to Mt Smart Stadium. Check out their website here.
Auckland Arts Festival: Close Encounters
It's your last chance to have a Close Encounter. Go on a journey with four dancers, an actor and three musicians and explore hidden histories and forgotten secrets at one of Auckland's largest 19th-century houses.
Close Encounters also has a specially-curated exhibition of artworks by painter Star Gossage and commissioned photographs by Solomon Mortimer.

Auckland Arts Festival: Macbeth
Out, out damn spot - Set in today's Congo, Macbeth is an inspired adaptation of Verdi's arresting and intense opera, on show at the ASB Theatre, Aotea Centre.
In this re-creation, a group of Congolese refugees stumble upon a trunk filled with sheet music, costumes and gramophone recordings of Verdi's Macbeth. This becomes the catalyst for a dramatic re-telling of Shakespeare's tale of ambition, corruption and witchcraft in the Great Lakes region of Central Africa.

Auckland Arts Festival: Othello: The Remix
Othello: The Remix is a fresh, urban and utterly genius take on Othello, coming direct to you from America's leading re-interpreters of Shakespeare, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and the sensational Q Brothers.
MC Othello gets out of the ghetto and goes straight to the top. He wins the respect of the music industry, the adulation of fans and the heart of the beautiful singer Desdemona. But he's also attracted the spite of hip-hop purist Iago, who has something more sinister planned for Othello than a rap battle.
Othello: The Remix will be performed at the Bruce Mason Centre on Auckland's North Shore.

Sharon Van Etten concert
American singer songwriter Sharon Van Etten and will bring her "Magic Chords" to Auckland on Thursday night when she performs for the first time in New Zealand at the Kings Arms in Newton.
Van Etten's songs have been described as having "echoes of folk tradition," and being "heartfelt without being overly earnest."
Having toured with The National through Europe and last year across the States with Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds as both opening act and sometime guest back up vocalist Van Etten has been keeping some excellent company whilst travelling her music to audiences that are more often than not left spell-bound by her sets.

The Volvo Ocean Race
Fancy a cruise? With the Volvo Ocean Race starting on Friday, you can get the ultimate viewpoint and enjoy the cruise on "Olympic Spirit". Get up close and view some of the world's fastest monohulls in action on Auckland Harbour.
But be in quick! The Friday Spectator cruise has already sold out. Cruises are restricted 18 and start at $75 per person.
