A whopping 49 percent of Aucklanders say they feel stressed out if they don't have access to the internet in a revealing new survey.
The survey by consumer satisfaction company, Canstar Blue also revealed that 17 percent of Aucklanders feel that the amount of time they spend online is negatively impacting their relationships.
9 percent of those surveyed admitted to looking at their partners browsing history online and over a third say they feel guilty about how much time they spend online.
While a third admit to spending more time socialising online than they do in person.
1,127 people took part in the survey.
Aucklanders spend the most amount of time in the country surfing the internet out of boredom (48 percent) with 43 percent of those interviewed saying they check or update their social media more than four times a day.
A quarter of Aucklanders also admitted to regularly downloading music and videos that they don't pay for.
On average, Kiwis are spending 4 hours a day online.
