A southwest flow affects much of the country as a cold front moves away to the north. Another front moves over the lower South Island early today. The flow tips westerly over South Island from later today and remains strong in the far south, but eases over the rest of the country as a ridge slowly extends east across the upper North Island. The ridge remains in place into Wednesday.

Fair visibility in a few Showers before dawn, then cloudy periods. For the Hauraki Gulf: Sunday: Southwest 20 knots, easing to 15 knots in the evening. Moderate sea, easing evening, but choppy when wind opposes tide. Fair visibility in a few morning showers, then cloudy periods. For Bream Head to Cape Colville: Sunday: Southwest 20 knots rising to 25 knots gusting 35 knots about Colville Channel in the afternoon, easing to southwest 15 knots everywhere in the evening.
