Manukau and Waitemata Harbours, Hauraki Gulf and Bream Head to Cape Colville.

Situation:

: An intense low over eastern parts of the North Island gradually moves away to the east today. A brief ridge crosses the country on Thursday. Another low crosses the South Island during Friday and early Saturday, with an associated front moving quickly across the North Island.

Warnings:

Strong wind advisory in force for Manukau and Waitemata Harbours. Gale warning in force for Hauraki Gulf, and the area from Bream Head to Cape Colville.

Forecast:

For Manukau and Waitemata Harbours: Wednesday: Becoming southwest 15 knots before dawn, rising to 20 knots gusting 30 knots early morning, and to 25 knots gusting 35 knots by midday. Easing to southwest 20 knots gusting 30 knots in the evening. Sea becoming rough late morning, then easing in the evening. Cloudy periods and a few light showers. For Hauraki Gulf and the area from Bream Head to Cape Colville: Wednesday: Becoming southwest 20 knots before dawn, rising to 25 knots gusting 35 knots early morning, and to 35 knots gusting 45 knots by midday. Easing to southwest 25 knots gusting 35 knots in the evening. Sea becoming very rough late morning, then easing in the evening. Cloudy periods and a few light showers.

Outlook until midnight Saturday: Thursday: Southwest 25 knots easing to 20 knots in the morning, to 15 knots in the afternoon, then becoming northwest 10 knots in the evening. Cloudy periods. Friday: Northwest rising to 15 knots in the morning, and to 20 knots in the afternoon. Fine spells,evening rain. Saturday: Northwest 20 knots, easing to westerly 15 knots in the morning, and to southwest 10 knots in the evening. A few morning showers,clearing.
