Area Description:

Manukau and Waitemata Harbours, Hauraki Gulf and Bream Head to Cape Colville.

Situation:

A ridge lies over the upper North Island today, while a front weakens and stalls over the lower South Island. Another front moves over the South Island on Sunday, then the North Island on Monday as a ridge builds over the South Island. Yet another front moves up the east coast of the South Island on Tuesday.

For the Manukau and Waitemata Harbours, the Hauraki Gulf and the area from Bream Head to Cape Colville: Saturday: Southwest 10 knots, rising to 15 knots this afternoon. Sea slight. Mainly fine, with cloud increasing evening.

Outlook:

Outlook until midnight Tuesday: Sunday: Southwest 10 knots. Turning northeast 10 knots in the afternoon, but remaining southwest 10 knots about the Manukau Harbour. Cloudy periods,a shower or two. Monday: Southwest rising to 15 knots in the morning. A few showers. Tuesday: Southerly 10 knots, rising to southwest 20 knots in the afternoon. Showers clearing, becoming fine.

Swell:

Swell forecast to midnight Tuesday: East Coast: Low waves. However, easterly 1 metre about Bream Head to Cape Colville, easing to half a metre today, then rising to 1 metre again Sunday and easing to half a metre again Tuesday. West Coast: Southwest 1 metre, easing to to half a metre today, then rising to 1. 5 metres Sunday and to 2 metres for a time Monday and Tuesday.
