If it hasn't already happened, it won't be long before "Ibiza compilations" becomes a bin of its own at your local record shop.
They just keep a-coming, usually named — as this one is — after a venue at the club-mad Spanish island resort and subtitled — as this one is — with something like "The Real Sound of Ibiza."
This double CD arguably doesn't need that cachet to prove useful half a world away as thoughts turn to summer.
Its two discs are programmed by DJ Pete Gooding into a sunset-friendly "Chill-Out' Mix" and the more upbeat "Pre-Club Mix."
The former's languid tracks mostly by familiar names (Groove Armada, Chicane, Leftfield, Rae and Christian and, yes, him again ... Moby) qualify it for a pre-barbecue bach soundtrack for the summer.
While the latter's line in shiny, merry house (Moloko, Basement Jaxx among others) and a pinch of techno (Azzido Da Bass, Laurnet Garnier), provides more than enough infectiously funky stuff to work off that extra sausage, post-din-dins.
