TAUPO - The level of Lake Taupo remains unseasonably low despite recent rain.
Harbourmaster Doug Brown said heavy rain in the catchment last week made little impression on the lake, which at 356.3m is only 32 per cent full.
Mr Brown said the lake was usually about half a metre higher in August and with summer approaching, the current level was causing concern.
Ramps at Three Mile Bay and Omori are marginal and care is advised for those taking big vessels into Taupo harbour.
