Fresh from acclaimed performances in Gladiator and The Insider, New Zealander Russell Crowe is pondering a turn in the director's chair.
He is now completing Proof of Life with Meg Ryan, with whom he's been romantically linked.
Daily Variety says Crowe is considering directing A Course in Miracles, the story of a young Jesuit priest with a crisis of faith. Crowe might also play the lead.
He first came to attention in LA Confidential (1997), and earned a best-actor Oscar nomination for The Insider.
Crowe could command $33 million for his next role.
