The world's warmest decade

UN climate talks resume in Warsaw on Monday amid a slew of warnings about a potentially disastrous rise in greenhouse-gas emissions. The world has warmed since the start of the Industrial Revolution with rising atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases -- emitted by human activity -- partly to blame for a whole variety of deadly weather extremes, such has heatwaves. 2001-2010 was the hottest decade since records began.
